Length:

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: assess the basics of computer hardware and how it applies in their own organization and use microcomputer software application packages in business situations (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
Instruction:
Major topics include: word processing overview (creating and editing documents, formatting documents, creating reports and newsletters, creating tables, merging documents); spreadsheet overview (creating worksheets, managing complex wordbooks, editing charts); database overview (creating and modifying databases, filtering and querying tables, creating reports); graphics presentation program overview (creating and enhancing presentations; case projects).
Credit recommendation:

In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in Computer Applications, Information Systems, Business, Informatics, Information Science, or Information Technology (6/10) (7/15 revalidation) (10/21 revalidation). NOTE: The educational approach in this course is based on the principles of accelerated learning and adult learning theory. Based on this, and due to the limited class size and the low student/teacher ratio, learning outcomes are achieved and content is covered in the allotted hours.
