Institute of Leadership and Ministry, Inc. | Evaluated Learning Experience
MIN-425 Supervised Ministry II
50 Hours (5 weeks).
March 2025 - Present.
Upon successful completion of this learning experience, students will be able to complement and complete the topics started in the previous course MIN-424 Supervised Ministry I and comprehend and apply study and preaching, Pastoral Care, and Ecclesiastical Administration skills.
This course covers three (3) of the six (6) components of the institutional ministerial formation program. Ecclesiastic ministries are services within the context of a community of faith called the church and include pastoral care and administrative tasks. By definition it is an act of service or performance of specific functions within a religious, spiritual and social context. This course has the theoretical component of the life of faith and the practical component of it and represents practicality in a church setting, therefore the theoretical element of which students participating in the class must be implemented in that practical setting, that is the church. Topics include the areas of Study and Preaching, Pastoral Care and Ecclesiastic Administration. Being a ministerial course, it has a marked practical emphasis on the topics discussed. Students must submit evidence showing mastery of the skills taught in this course. Due to the academic load, this is considered to be a three-credit course and not a two-credit course. Therefore it requires 50 hours of study that includes group sessions and individual work. The meeting time will be 2 ½ hours per week for five weeks. The rest of the academic work will be done individually. Prerequisite: MIN-424 Supervised Ministry I.
In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Biblical Studies, Ministry, or Education (3/25).
