Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to define the educational activities of the main categories of ministerial training in the areas of Call to Ministry, Spiritual Discipline and Life of Worship and apply the different disciplines of ministerial training which the minister or candidate for ministry must develop.

Instruction: 

This is a ministerial learning course that covers three (3) of the six (6) components of our institutional ministerial formation program. It provides an integrated study between ministry and character development shaped by the values ​​and virtues of the kingdom of God. This is the first of the two Supervised Ministry courses. Ecclesiastic ministries are services within the context of a community of faith called the church. It includes pastoral care and administrative tasks. By definition it is an act of service or performance of specific functions within a religious, spiritual and social context. This course has the theoretical component of the life of faith and the practical component of it. The course represents practicality in a church setting, therefore the theoretical element of which the student participated in the class must be implemented in that practical setting, that is the church. The course includes the educational activities of the main categories of ministerial training in the areas of Call to Ministry, Spiritual Discipline and Life of Worship. Instruction emphasizes how to understand and practice the different disciplines of ministerial training which the minister or candidate for ministry must develop. It is a three (3) credit course and therefore requires 50 hours of study which includes group sessions and individual work. Meeting time will be 2 1/2 hours per week for five weeks. The rest of the academic work will be done individually.

Credit recommendation: 

In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Biblical Studies, Ministry, or Education (3/25).
