BIB-501 Pentecostal Exploration of The New Testament

Learner Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: describe a panoramic study of the new testament from the Pentecostal perspective; emphasize how the theological foundation is broadened and the promises that foretell the Pentecostal outpouring in the early church and history are fulfilled; define the Pentecostal principles expressed by the different biblical authors and how they are applied in the new testament metanarrative; integrate the context of the new testament and the contemporary church; and become familiar with the historical and cultural background of the New Testament and its importance.

Instruction: 

This course comprises a panoramic study of the New Testament from the Pentecostal perspective and emphasizes how the theological foundation is broadened and the promises that foretell the Pentecostal outpouring in the early church and history are fulfilled. Students study the Pentecostal principles expressed by the different biblical authors and how they are applied in the New Testament metanarrative. At the end of the course, there will be an integration between the context of the New Testament and the contemporary church. 

Credit recommendation: 

In the graduate degree category, 3 semester hours in Biblical Studies, Theology, or Scriptural Study (3/25).
