THE-802 Pentecostal Christology
75 Hours (6 weeks).
March 2025 - Present.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: explain verbally and in writing the historical foundations of Christology from the perspective of the Pentecostal church; identify and explain the Christological understandings reflected in the New Testament and their impact on the Pentecostal church; demonstrate through the practice of spiritual disciplines the understanding of the meaning of the person of Jesus Christ in everyday life; critically evaluate contemporary views of Christology in accordance with the Bible and the historical and theological foundations derived from the study; apply principles learned from the person and work of Jesus to the student’s personal life and ministry; articulate in an understandable way the different Christologies that prevail in the marginalized sectors of Latin American society; and demonstrate through Christian service, a social commitment as Jesus lived it.
This course presents a biblical, historical, and theological investigation of the person and work of Christ, and the importance of that doctrine in carrying out the discipling mission of the church. Major topics include the incarnation, life and ministry, atoning death, resurrection, and ascension. In addition, the Christological elements of Pentecostal teachings are explored: Christ saves, heals, baptizes, sanctifies and arrives.
In the graduate degree category, 3 semester hours in Theology, Ministry, or Biblical Studies (3/25).
