Upon successful completion of this learning experience, students will be able to: develop cultural sensitivity and analyze differences between countries; cultivate an ethical decision-making framework to address global challenges; gain insight into cultural differences and how they influence leadership styles and decision-making​; perform an environmental analysis; gain an understanding of global political, economic, and legal environments and how they impact business operations; learn to think strategically in a global context, understanding the complexities of international markets and organizational structures​; understand the role of leaders in promoting sustainability and social responsibility within international organizations​; formulate plans to improve an organization; enhance decision-making in complex global environments; evaluate the role played by marketing, operations, and human resource management within an international business.

Instruction: 

Instruction explores the complexities of leading and managing organizations in a globalized world. It is designed to integrate the accepted theories in the area with real world applications to provide students with the basic knowledge and skills needed to lead and manage in the global business environment. The course emphasizes ethical decision-making, strategic thinking, and adaptability in a dynamic international context. Through case studies, simulations, and real-world examples, students will develop practical skills to lead effectively across borders and drive organizational success in multicultural environments. Readings and case studies are intended to help students understand the needs of modern public and private organizations along with emerging national and international trends.
