Fire and Emergency Service Instructor II
50 hours (4 weeks).
January 2020 - Present.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: Develop individual lesson plan and deliver a cognitive presentation; discuss scheduling of training sessions; explain budgeting, discuss the acquisition of resources; explain the development and analyzation of evaluation and feedback instruments; and discuss the supervision and coordination of the activities of other instructors.
The course consists of lectures, homework, development of a lesson plan, delivery of a long cognitive presentation, and a final exam taken in the classroom. Successful completion results in ProBoard national certification through the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Prerequisite: Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I.
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category OR in the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Educational Methods (8/25).
