Learner Outcomes:
Accomplish playing of historical characters and period plays with appropriate and methodical research tools and physical awareness and skill.
Instruction:
Movement, research, and performance class concentrating on melding acting technique with physical approaches to characterization, dances of the period, and biographical research to present a sophisticated, extended improvisation of an historically accurate event from the Elizabethan, Baroque, or Edwardian periods, with students in costume before an audience. (Prerequisite: Movement Level II (THE108/DAN201) or (DAN201).)
Credit recommendation:
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category or in the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 2 semester hours in Theatre, Drama, or Dance (11/97).
