Learner Outcomes:
Students will be abel to find appropriate monologue material; prepare a monologue for presentation; integrate technical aspects of auditioning into their preparation; adapt to different types of audition situations both artistically and technically.
Instruction:
This course requires Film and Television Year students to prepare and perform monologues as audition pieces for the industry in addition to reviewing technical skills learned in Audition Technique I (THE270). Students practice different forms, both on and off camera using scenes from theater, film and television. In addition, students perform one monologue for a professional jury and receive feedback.
Credit recommendation:
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category or in the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 2 semester hours in Theatre, Drama, Communications, or Radio and Television (7/11).
