Learner Outcomes:
Students will be able to memorize a scene verbatim; enter and exit an audition space in a professional manner; execute both artistic and technical skills necessary for a successful audition; apply skills to make adjustments when auditioning for a theatrical production or on-camera project.
Instruction:
This courses provides an introduction to the necessary tools, both artistic and technical, that students will need to craft a successful audition. Students will rehearse and integrate skills such as memorization, script handling, see and say, oral reading, read alouds, and the deconstruction of language in order to prepare and deliver a successful audition.
Credit recommendation:
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category or in the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 2 semester hours in Theatre, Drama, Communications, or Radio and Television (7/11).
