Microsoft Professional Program: Certificate in Front End Web Development

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: explain the fundamentals of web development; create a basic web application; build dynamic web apps; simplify user interface management; build a web user interface; build a responsive web user interface; build a dynamic web user interface; simplify and manage data binding; build a complex single-page application; create web apps with high availability and scale; and manage web application projects.
Instruction is offered online through edX and through other Microsoft partners. Major topics include: Front End Web Development orientation, HTML5 and CSS fundamentals, Java Script introduction, introduction to TypeScript 2, CSS basics, advanced CSS, introduction to Bootstrap, introduction to jQuery, angular fundamentals, introduction to ReactJS, advanced angular, React router and Redux building your Azure skills toolkit, and DevOps for developers. Skills are measured through formative and summative assessments including a comprehensive capstone project.
In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 6 semester hours in Web Development, Web Design or Information Technology (10/18).
