Microsoft Professional Program: Certificate in Cloud Administration

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: explain the fundamentals of cloud administration; provision and manage virtual machines; implement a cloud network infrastructure; manage cloud directory services; implement and manage cloud storage; deploy and manage cloud application services; provision, configure, and manage cloud database services; secure and manage compliance of cloud resources; automate cloud workloads; and migrate infrastructure as a service workloads.
Instruction is offered online through edX and through other Microsoft partners. Major topics include: Microsoft professional orientation, cloud administration, Microsoft Azure virtual machines, Azure virtual networks, Azure identity, Azure storage, Azure app service, databases in Azure, Azure security and compliance, automating Azure workloads, and migrating workloads to Azure. Skills are measured through formative and summative assessments including a comprehensive capstone project.
In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems (10/18).
