Learner Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: discuss the theoretical background to various methods of teaching math, reading, (including Hebrew) reading and writing and evaluate their effective use based on current research; develop a pre-math and multi-lingual reading program at the pre-reading and fundamental levels; and select appropriate materials and design supplementary materials including the elements of play.

Instruction: 

Topics include: reading development, assessment and remediation, teaching reading in a foreign language versus English. 

Credit recommendation: 

In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in Education (2/11) (4/16 revalidation) (3/21 revalidation).
