Health Coach Training Program (HCTP)
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: conduct a client intake (“health history”); facilitate an in-person or online coaching session; develop a coaching program; elicit a client’s wellness vision; co-create action plans to achieve life and health goals; monitor progress in goal achievement; create practical applications of health and wellness concepts; teach key Integrative Nutrition concepts such as primary food, secondary food, crowding out, mind-body connection, life balance and bio-individuality; and facilitate improvement in quality of life.
The course is delivered in a 40-module distance learning format and consists of video and audio lectures, readings and study guides, interactive learning activities, quizzes, homework assignments, live mentorship and skills practice with an instructor, practice coaching sessions, and group discussion.
Topics include multidimensional health and wellness (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual), various nutrition and dietary theories (Ayurveda, anti-Inflammatory, plant-based, ketogenic, etc.), coaching and communication skills (active listening, open-ended questioning, reflecting, summarizing, etc.), contemporary health issues (gut health, hormone health, food quality and access, etc.), theories and models of behavior change (Motivational Interviewing, positive psychology, Transtheoretical Model, client-centered approach etc.), and business (marketing, branding, content creation, sales funnels, administrative setup), etc.
