Advanced Color Theory (ART-335)

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: explain the principles of the Munsell Color System, including hue, value, and chroma, and apply them to color analysis and organization; accurately mix, match, and arrange colors using the Munsell Student Color Set to create visually balanced compositions; discuss color perception, including physiological and psychological factors that influence how color is seen and interpreted; analyze and apply color harmonies, contrasts, and schemes to achieve specific aesthetic and communicative effects in artistic and design projects; explore the impact of light, material, and environment on color appearance and integrate this knowledge into creative work; and investigate the cultural, historical, and symbolic meanings of color across different artistic movements and global traditions.
Advanced Color Theory (ART-335) is an undergraduate course that provides an in-depth exploration of color theory, emphasizing both conceptual understanding and practical application.
