Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: describe the key qualities of effective teachers and their impact on student learning; identify and discuss the professional knowledge required for effective teaching; develop comprehensive instructional plans that align with curriculum standards and student needs; implement effective instructional delivery techniques to engage students and facilitate learning; apply various assessment techniques to evaluate and support student learning progress; establish and maintain a positive learning environment that supports student success; demonstrate professionalism in teaching practices, including ethical behavior and continuous professional development; apply the characteristics of effective teaching and reflect on their application in the classroom.
Students will study the fundamentals of teaching via required readings and submit multiple assignments which reflect an applied understanding of the material.
