Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to recognize the fundamental structure of HTML and its role in web development; apply CSS to style web pages, including layout, color, and typography; use multimedia elements such as images, videos, and audio effectively; design and implement interactive forms for user input; optimize web pages for performance and accessibility; develop a responsive, multi-page website using HTML and CSS; demonstrate proficiency in organizing and commenting code for collaboration and maintainability; and evaluate and apply best practices in web design and development.
Major topics include the structure and syntax of HTML and CSS; creating and styling web pages using layout, color, and typography techniques; incorporating multimedia elements such as images, video, and audio; building interactive forms for user input; optimizing web pages for performance and accessibility; developing responsive, multi-page websites; and applying best practices in coding organization, documentation, and modern web development.
In the associate/certificate degree category, 3 semester hours in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Development, Graphic Design or Informatics (4/25).
