Learner Outcomes: 

Version 1: Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: strengthen one's approach to collaboration by immersion in rehearsal and public performance of an original musical theatre performance piece. Version 2: Students will be able to: create a story by integrating music and lyrics; collaborate in the creative and performance process; discover the unique voice of the ensemble; and integrate the creative process with the rehearsal process.

Instruction: 

Version 1: This course strengthens the actor's facility as a full collaborator by participating in the rehearsal process and public performance of an original musical theatre performance piece. Version 2: The purpose of the course is to strengthen the artists' facility as a full collaborator by creating a theatrical presentation with an ensemble of fellow actors. The focus is on integrating and augmenting actors' technique and skill levels to include creation of stories, music, and the structuring of themes and written materials.

Credit recommendation: 

Version 1 and 2: In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category OR in the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Musical Theatre, Drama, and related disciplines (5/10) (7/15 revalidation).
