Learner Outcomes: 
Students will be able to: discuss elements of the scriptural and secondary sources concerning the Biblical Tribes of Israel; explore the historical and sociological elements of these groups; examine and analyze the text using a variety of classical commentaries and relevant academic studies done by experts; and develop and apply biblical research skills and techniques.
Instruction: 

This course is delivered in a distance learning format that includes a study of the texts related to the Biblical Tribes of Israel referencing a compendium of Prophets, Writings, Babylonian Talmud, Jerusalem Talmud, Nachmanidies, and other classical commentaries focusing on understanding the major religious and historical elements. Contemporary works by Scholars will be used to frame the texts and their historical and current ramifications. Students will conduct a close reading of the texts, applying research skills to uncover the meaning and understand the message of the narrative.

Credit recommendation: 

In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Jewish History (7/13) (7/18 revalidation) (7/23 revalidation).
