Learner Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to discuss the principles and philosophy of character traits and analyze the positive and negative aspects of these traits; discuss the principles and philosophy of character traits; develop an appreciation for areas of Jewish thought; and assess the relevancy of moral and ethical principles delineated in the text to various contemporary social issues and personality development.

Instruction: 

This course is a study and analysis of personal development using the text of Orchot Tzaddikim. Topics include: jealousy; zealousness; laziness; charity; remembering; forgetfulness; truthfulness; flattery; slander; repentance; Torah.

Credit recommendation: 

In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 2 semester hours in Judaic Studies, Near Eastern Studies, or Religion (7/00) (5/06 revalidation) (1/17 revalidation).
