Learner Outcomes: 

After completing the proficiency examination, students will be able to: demonstrate a basic understanding of sentence structure, past and present and infinitive forms syntactical structures, basic vocabulary, grammatical forms, display comprehension skills and command of a basic vocabulary of Modern Hebrew; read and understand short adapted texts in various genres; produce proper sentences in Hebrew; and distinguish between Hebrew words without the aid of vowels; and compose short compositions utilizing correct grammar and syntax.

Instruction: 

The proficiency examination process is intended to measure a body of knowledge that candidates have acquired through other learning experiences. Each examination is administered under secure and proctored conditions. The exam covers masculine and feminine forms, singular and plural, syntax, the definitive article, question statements, relational articles, reading comprehension, and an essay.

Credit recommendation: 

In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 8 semester hours in Hebrew (12/09) (12/15 revalidation) (1/23 revalidation). NOTE: A discrete credit recommendation has been established for each language proficiency examination. Some academic institutions may limit the amount of credit that students may earn in this subject area due to certain degree requirements.
