Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: Exam 1: manage domains; plan a Microsoft 365 implementation; set up Microsoft 365 tenancy and subscription; manage Microsoft 365 subscription and tenant health; plan migration of users and data; design identity strategy; plan identity synchronization by using Azure AD Connect; Manage identity synchronization by using Azure AD Connect; Manage Azure AD identities; manage user roles; manage authentication; implement multi-factor authentication (MFA); configure application access; implement access for external users of Microsoft 365 workloads; and plan for Office 365 workload and applications deployment. Exams 1 and 2: These certification exams assesses individuals’ skills and competencies in an online proctored format or at an authorized test center.

Credit recommendation:

In the associate /certificate degree category, 2 semester hours in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Technology (6/19). NOTE: To earn certification, student must successfully complete MS-100 Microsfot 365 Identity and Services AND MS-101 Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security AND one of the following certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Expert; Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate; Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate; or Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator Associate. Care should be given to avoid awarding duplicative credit. 

Length:

Exam 1: 150 minutes; preparation time varies and Exam 2: 180 minutes; preparation time varies. OR Exam 3: 180 minutes; preparation time varies.

Exam 1, 2 or 3: May 2019 - March 2022.

Objectives:

Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: Exam 1: Manage databases; manage Database Availability Groups (DAGs); manage and implement client access; manage disaster recovery; manage messaging infrastructure lifecycle; plan the Transport Pipeline; manage connectors; manage mail flow; troubleshoot mail flow problems; manage recipient resources; and manage mobile devices. Exam 2: plan and deploy a hybrid environment; plan and implement migration; manage public folders; manage role-based permission, message hygiene, Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) for messaging and compliance; configure organizational settings; and plan address lists. OR Exam 3: All outcomes, skills and competencies for exam 1 and 2.

Exam 1 and 2 together OR Exam 3: In the associate /certificate degree category, 2 semester hours in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Technology (6/19). NOTE: There are two options for those who seek Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Expert. NOTE: Students must successfully complete both MS-200 Planning and Configuring a Messaging Platform and MS-201 Implementing a Hybrid and Secure Messaging Platform OR students must successfully complete MS-202 and the prerequisite 70-345: Designing and Deploying Microsoft Exchange Server 2016.

NOTE: Student must successfully complete MD-100 Windows 10 and MD-101 Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security OR students must successfully complete 70-695: Configuring Windows 10 and MD-101 Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security. Care should be given to avoid duplicate credit for Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.

Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: implement and manage identity and access; secure user accounts; implement authentication methods, conditional access, role-based access control (RBAC), Azure AD Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Azure AD Identity Protection; implement an enterprise hybrid threat protection solution and device threat protection; implement and manage device and application protection, Office 365 messaging protection and Office 365 threat protection. Secure data access within Office 365; manage Azure Information Protection (AIP); manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP); Implement and manage Microsoft Cloud App Security; configure and analyze security reporting; manage and analyze audit logs and reports; configure Office 365 classification and labeling; manage data governance and retention; manage search and investigation, and data privacy regulation compliance.

In the associate/certificate degree category, 2 semester hours in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Introduction to Cybersecurity or Computer Technology (6/19).

Exam 1, 2 and 3: May 2019 - March 2022.

Objectives:

Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: Exam 1: configure and manage SharePoint Online; configure and manage OneDrive for Business; configure and manage Teams; configure and manage workload integrations; manage stream capabilities; and integrate M365 workloads with external data and systems. Exam 2: configure and manage SharePoint on-premises; configure and manage hybrid scenarios; and migrate to SharePoint Online. Exam 3: All of the outcomes, skills and competencies for exam 1 and 2.

Instruction:

Exam 1 and 2 OR Exam 3: These certification exams assess individuals’ skills and competencies in an online proctored format or at an authorized test center. Exam 3 prerequisite: 70-339: Managing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016.

Credit recommendation:

Exam 1 and 2 together OR Exam 3: In the associate/certificate degree category, 2 semester hours in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Technology (6/19). NOTE: Students must successfully complete MS-300 Deploying Microsoft 365 Teamwork and MS-301 Deploying SharePoint Server Hybrid OR students must successfully complete MS-302 and its prerequisite: 70-339: Managing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016.

April 2020 - March 2022.

Objectives:

Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: manage Azure identities and governance, implement and manage storage, deploy and manage Azure compute resources, configure and manage virtual networking, monitor and back up Azure resources.

Instruction:

This certification exam assesses individuals’ skills and competencies in an online proctored format or at an authorized test center. 

Credit recommendation:

In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 4 semester hours in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Web Design (8/20 administrative review). NOTE: AZ-104 replaced AZ-103 (see 'Microsoft retired courses/exams'). Duplicate credit should not be awarded for AZ-103 and AZ-104.

Exam time is 180 minutes; preparation time varies. 

Dates:

February 2020 – March 2022.

Objectives:

Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification include: develop Azure compute solutions, develop for Azure storage, implement Azure security, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure solutions, connect to and consume Azure services and third-party services.

This certification exam assesses individuals’ skills and competencies in an online proctored format or at an authorized test center. 

Credit recommendation:

In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 4 semester hours in Cloud Computing, Information technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Web Design (8/20 administrative review).  NOTE: AZ-204 replaced AZ-203 (see 'Microsoft retired courses/exams'). Duplicate credit should not be awarded for AZ-203 and AZ-204.

Objectives:

Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: design a DevOps strategy; implement DevOps development processes; implement continuous integration; implement continuous delivery; implement dependency management; implement application infrastructure; and implement continuous feedback.

This certification exam assesses individuals’ skills and competencies in an online proctored format or at an authorized test center. 

Credit recommendation:

In the upper division baccalaureate degree category 4 semester hours in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Web Design OR in the graduate degree category, 3 semester hours in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Web Design (10/18).

Objectives:

1. Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: deploy and configure infrastructure; implement workloads and security; create and deploy apps; implement authentication and secure data; develop for the cloud. 2. Outcomes, skills and competencies measured by this certification exam include: determine workload requirements; design for identity and security; design a data platform solution; design a business continuity strategy; design for deployment, migration, and integration; design an infrastructure strategy.

Instruction:

This certification exam assesses individuals’ skills and competencies in an online proctored format or at an authorized test center. 

Credit recommendation:

In the upper division baccalaureate degree category 4 semester hours in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Web Design OR in the graduate degree category, 3 semester hours in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Web Design (8/20 administrative review). NOTE:  The Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect: Expert Certification requires passing scores on two examinations: 1. AZ-303 Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies and 2.  AZ-304 Microsoft Azure Architect Design. Students must successfully complete both exams to access credit recommendations. NOTE: AZ-303 and AZ-304 replaced AZ-300 and AZ-301 (see 'Microsoft retired courses/exams'). Duplicate credit should not be awarded for AZ-300 and AZ-301.
