Vocal/Musical Technique I (ACT106)

Learner Outcomes: 
Grasp and use the fundamentals of basic music theory, sight singing, group singing, harmony, and ear training.
Instruction: 
This course helps students develop and strengthen basic vocal performance through breathing exercises and work on relaxation, placement, ease of vocal production, support, and timbre. The focus is on basic music theory (instruction in note values, rhythm, chords, scales, keys, and intervals).
Credit recommendation: 
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category or in the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 1 semester hour in Theatre, Drama, Communications, or Radio and Television (11/97).
