The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts | Evaluated Learning Experience
Camera Ready/Through-Line (FIL374)
The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, 39 West 19th Street, New York, NY.
January 2003 - December 2007.
Prepare an on-camera role by discovering and using the through-line that unifies the actor's performance when the script is shot out of sequence; work with an understanding of the process of role creation that considers the contributions made by everyone on the film set.
Students prepare character studies with reference to the totality of the role. They prepare a scene alone with an exploration of the entire script and tape it in class without rehearsal. Students also learn the nature of the unity in films through viewing films and discussing the directors' work. (Prerequisite: Two years acting training or acceptance by the instructor via interview and/or audition.)
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category or in the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 1 semester hour in Theatre, Drama, Communications, or Radio and Television (12/02).
