Learner Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: effectively train workers in environmental issues; implement and promote environmental programs, projects, policies or procedures; conduct environmental incident and hazard investigations; conduct preventive environmental inspections; monitor environmental aspects in production stages; implement continuous improvement in environmental assurance practices; use advanced materials in production to reduce weight and increase life; and reprocess materials by recycling and reuse throughout product life cycle to optimize waste reduction.

Instruction: 
Instruction is offered via classroom or online through the use of study guides, required and supplemental readings, quizzes, homework, lab required interaction with instructor, and final exams. The course assesses students' end-of-program knowledge and skills in an online or printed form at proctored testing centers. Topics include: environmental issues, programs, projects, policies, or procedures, environmental incident and hazard investigations, preventive environmental inspections, environmental aspects in production, improvement of environmental assurance practices, utilization of advanced materials to reduce weight and increase life, reprocessing of materials though recycling and reuse to optimize waste production.
Credit recommendation: 
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 2 semester hours in Leadership, Management, Sustainability or as Technology Elective (10/12).
