Learner Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: use vocabulary and grammar in the Spanish language in oral form; conduct conversations in Spanish using short sentences; read vignettes written in Spanish and discuss themes with partner to augment language facility; enhance familiarity with Spanish culture; and complete class projects using an oral approach.

Instruction: 
This course is designed to develop and increase oral proficiency in the Spanish language by using classroom-based instruction consisting of lecture/discussion, assigned readings, and oral readings in class, dictation, class discussions, oral presentations in Spanish, and research on Spanish-speaking countries.
Credit recommendation: 
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 1 semester hour in Beginning Spanish (2/12).
